“I could spend all night in the extreme comfort of my palatial room with 16-foot-tall ceilings (and almost-as-tall original arched windows, a hallmark of many of the 129 guest rooms), but antsy with the knowledge that a buzzy scene unfolds downstairs, I head down to the Shinola “living room”—a dignified, lived-in, art-strewn take on the typical hotel lobby.”
